Step into the vibrant world of underglaze and transform your pottery into expressive, one-of-a-kind artwork. In this hands-on series, Kristy will guide you through each stage of the process—helping you build confidence with color, develop painting techniques, and bring your creative ideas to life on clay.

Whether you're new to underglaze or looking to refine your skills, this class is designed to spark inspiration and expand what’s possible on the surface of your pieces.


  • Class One – Playing with Color
    Dive into the basics of underglaze, exploring color mixing and application techniques. You’ll complete a guided project designed to build a strong foundation.
  • Class Two – Adding Depth & Dimension
    Learn how to create form and shading that makes your designs pop. Follow along with a step-by-step project focused on dimension and detail.
  • Class Three – Layering & Detail Work
    Take your skills further with advanced techniques, including layering, blending, and refining intricate designs in a guided piece.
  • Class Four – Your Creative Vision
    Bring it all together in an open studio-style session. Create a project of your choosing while receiving personalized guidance and feedback from Kristy.

Underglaze Techniques

2-hr session • 4 weeks | $200

Bring your ideas to life—one shape at a time. This hands-on sculpture class is designed to guide students from simple forms to expressive, finished pieces in a supportive and creative environment. Whether you're new to clay or looking to strengthen your sculptural skills, you'll learn how to build, refine, and transform your work step by step, ending with a unique piece you’ll be proud to display. 


  • Week 1 – Building with Basic Shapes
    Students will explore form by constructing sculptures using only basic shapes—no fine details yet. The goal is to create three small sculptures, then choose a favorite to continue developing throughout the course.
  • Week 2 – Developing Secondary Forms
    Students will refine their chosen sculpture, building upon the foundation of basic shapes to define 
  • Week 3 – Refinement & Hollowing (a.k.a. Horror Week!)
    This week, students will hollow out their sculptures to prepare them for firing, then carefully reassemble the pieces. Once reconstructed, they’ll add fine details and texture to bring their sculptures to life.
  • Week 4 – Glazing & Finishing Touches
    In the final week, students will learn glazing and painting techniques to complete their finished sculpture, ready for firing and display.


Due to drying time glazing may be delayed to a later date. This will be discussed in class three.

Mix, Make, Melt: Reactive Glass Magic

2-hr session • 4 weeks | $450

  • Day One Class – Introduction to class & discussion of objectives in clay, glass, & timeline of class; discuss design ideas & potential outcomes using examples; create three or four 6x6 clay molds. Follow up: Fire molds & slump clear glass into molds. 
  • Day Two Class – Review & discuss molds & slumped glass; discussion of fused glass designing & objectives; create four 6x6 glass pieces; create replacement clay molds if necessary. Follow up: Fuse glass & slump into molds. Fire additional clay molds if needed. 
  • Day Three Class – Review & discuss fused & slumped pieces; introduction to painting on glass & combining with frit & glass sheet; create additional glass pieces &/or molds. Follow up: Fuse glass & slump new glass pieces; fire new clay molds.
  • Day Four Class – Critique & troubleshooting clay molds, glass designs & review of firing schedules. Create final pieces for firing.  Follow up: Fuse & slump final pieces.

Mix, Make, Melt: Reactive Glass Magic

Mix, Make, Melt: Reactive Glass Magic

2-hr session • 4 weeks | $450

Join Stephanie Baness as she takes you through various reactions when working with fused glass. This class will focus on creating test tiles to better inform your work. The final project, in addition to the tiles, will be a fused glass bowl. All materials are included except for the silver foil ($10-$20). 

The four weeks will consist of: 

Week 1: Discuss sulfur & copper & various reactions. Create 3 test tiles. 

Week 2: Discuss results from Week 1. Create tiles with Alchemy glass & silver foil. Discussion of contamination, Alchemy glass & potential issues. 

Week 3: Discuss results from Week 3. Create three tiles using silver foil. 

Week 4: Discuss results from Week 4. Create final project, 7.5 x 7.5 bowl with reactions. 

All materials included except silver foil ($10–$20). Ages 12+. Prior fused glass experience preferred.

Discover the ancient art of Viking wire knitting in this hands-on class! Also known as Viking chain knitting or trichinopoly, this historic technique dates back to the Viking Age and was used to create stunning woven wire jewelry.


In this class, you’ll learn how to use fine wire and a simple mandrel to weave intricate, flexible chains perfect for bracelets, necklaces, or decorative accents. No prior experience is necessary—our expert instructor will guide you through each step, from setting up your wire to finishing your piece with clasps and embellishments.

Intermediate/Advance Viking Wire Knit Techniques

1.5-hr session • 2 weeks | $75

This class is for students who have taken the Beginning level class and have completed projects on their own.  The advanced class will include techniques in double knit, adding beads to chains, making findings for closures and accents, and different ways of finishing chains into jewelry.  Prerequisite for this class is demonstration of the basic single knit technique.

Fundamental of Watercolor

2-hr session • 4 weeks | $198

Explore the expressive nature of watercolor in this beginner-friendly class focused on building confidence and core skills. Students will learn how water, pigment, and paper work together through guided exercises in blending, layering, color, and texture. Each session encourages experimentation while helping students develop their own artistic style in a supportive, creative environment. 


  • Day 1: Blind contour drawings of a still life. Focus on blending, light to dark painting, & color placement.
  • Day 2: Contrast & layering. Use a limited palette, complementary colors, & sectioned image to emphasize layering & tone.
  • Day 3: New techniques: wax resist, wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, & salt resist. Apply lessons loosely & introduce the final project.
  • Day 4: Creative application. Students choose their subject, with guidance. A still life will be set up for inspiration.
